Hoedown Challenge Rules

The purpose of this post is to provide a clear description of how our Hoedown challenge works, and the rules that apply towards earning free digis or one of our weekly prizes.

Overview:

The Hoedown Challenge is a twice monthly challenge. Every first and third Wednesday a new challenge is posted, which is open to participants for about ten days. The type of challenge varies from challenge to challenge: one week might be a "theme" (i.e. "wildlife"), one week might be a color combination, or a sketch, or have an embellishment requirement, etc. so there should be something to interest everyone at some point.

If you play along in the challenge and follow all of the rules (posted below), you will have the chance to win one of our two weekly prizes. Winners will be posted each first and third Wednesday, along with the new weekly challenge.

Rules:

You are welcome to use stamps from any company to complete the challenge; however, only those that use a Hambo image (clear, rubber or digital) will be eligible to win one of our two weekly prizes -- a "Best in Show" award (badge + bragging rights + a free digi of one's choice from our store) for the project that wows us the most, or the "Queen of the Hoedown" award (badge + a free digi of one's choice from our store) given to a randomly drawn participant. (If you don't have any Hambo images, try out our Freebies in our digi store to get started.) Occasionally, there will also be extra prizes and incentives thrown in, so even if you're not able to play in the challenge that week, still try to drop by and check it out so you don't miss anything!

To enter the challenge, you must link your project (using the inlinkz widget at the bottom of each challenge post) before the Monday night deadline. Please note: unless an exception is clearly stated in the week's challenge rules, a stamp image itself does NOT satisfy the challenge requirement -- we are looking for an added element. For example, if the challenge calls for "flowers," we are looking for flowers to be incorporated via designer paper, ribbon, attached 3-D flowers, etc., and not just a stamp image of a flower.

Everyone loves receiving nice comments, so if you see another project linked up that you like, we hope that you'll leave a little note to let that player know. This is a fun challenge community with lots of great "regulars" who play, and we'd love to welcome YOU to it as well. :)

Thanks Carol. We just wanted an easier-to-follow blog post that we can refer all the newbies to, though it doesn't hurt for EVERYONE to get a refresher. :)
