Happy 'Newt' Year!
Hello Hambo Friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are able to get a little relaxation in. At least catching your breath from all the hub bub!
I have a fun New Years card to share with you using Hambo's Newt and coordinating sentiment. This is sure to bring a smile to your recipient's face!

I have a fun New Years card to share with you using Hambo's Newt and coordinating sentiment. This is sure to bring a smile to your recipient's face!
I stamped Newt with Memento Black before coloring him with Copics. I then paper pieced his shirt using Echo Park's Reflections Fall collection for the patterned paper. The same paper was used on the top panel while the sentiment was stamped directly on the base of the card. Newt was then popped up. The card was finished with some MS twill ribbon, a button, and some twine jute cording.
Here's to wishing you a fabulous and prosperous 2014! Thanks for stopping by!

"Check Mate"
Hello, Jane here, wishing you all a very happy boxing Day. this is the second week for the Kraft card theme for the Kraft card theme for the Hoedown Challenge here at Hambo Stamps.I have made this quirky card, the two chess pieces are taken from a full digital image set, quite appropriately called..CHESS SET!! I think it is kinda cute, and a great image for a card to send to some budding Garry Kasparov or Bobby Fischer. I must admit I am a rubbish chess player, always on the defensive, never take risks, don't think too far in front!! they say that chess brings out your true personality!!! they got that one right.. LOL.
Hope you enjoy the rest of this festive season, and.....Keeeeeep crafting!!

I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!
Do you have someone in your house that is wishing for a hippopotamus for Christmas?? Or just likes the song?
It is a favorite in our house! And while it is a fun song a hippo did not make it to anyone's gift list this year... but that doesn't mean it wouldn't make a CUTE tag on that gift!
Both tags use "Hippo Presents".
With tags like these.. I don't need much else to make my gifts look great under the tree!
Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Card Tutorial
Although many feel that giving gift cards for gifts is an easy "out" to
choosing a gift, many others think it's a great way to purchase what you
need, or really want, and prevent returns! Plus, the cost of mailing is
dramatically reduced over mailing a package if you need to send
something far away.
Our family actually loves giving and receiving gift cards to different places. There are some really cute and unique ways to enclose a gift card, and I invite you to explore your resources to find one for those last minute gifts.
Here is how I made mine from Splitcoaststampers TLC165 :
1. Cut your paper 4 1/4" X 11". Score 3" in from each end and also in the middle 5 1/2".
2. Fold this so that you end up with a 'W' shape and then you will see where you need to put your adhesive and punch or cut your opening for the gift card pocket. I used my Word Window punch about 2 1/2 times to punch my opening.
3. When you adhere your sides, be sure to keep the punched side OPEN (the middle of the "W"), and not stuck together, so you can insert your card.
4. Decorate as much or as little as desired.
Mine stays closed with organdy ribbon tied around the middle. Pretty easy! And no returns!
Have a wonderful weekend!

The Fire Is So Delightful!
Hello Hambo friends!
Deborah here and today I would like to share with you a card I made trying to combine many pattern papers together. Well, 4 to be exact. Have you ever combined many patterns together and achieve the perfect design mix? While this is not my forte, I wanted to give it a shot and make it somewhat clean to not take away from the image. I have a hard time mixing many patterns, as I feel it looks too busy. :) I am sure I need to think outside the box, but this one box I am having a difficult time with.
The image is Fireplace Stockings which I colored in with Copics and added some Fun Flock to the stocking in both red and white. That always reminds me of the old fashioned basic stocking we had as kids and used glue and glitter to write our names on it. Here is a closer look at the flock - and no, not geese! LOL! I crack myself up sometimes...
The image was layered over my nestie label and more patterned paper added to that. The patterned paper used is by Lilly Bee Design. The image was then popped up. I completed the card using some iridescent cording along with a light green button.
Grab your patterned papers and mix them up! See what works for you and achieve a fun design mix for your creation. Thanks for stopping by today!

Whee..............
I have made this card for todays CAS251 bling it up challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The photo doesn't do the blinginess of this card justice. It is really sparkly with all those gems on.... lovingly placed on one by one.... phew!! The blue background paper has irridescent spray on it, the girl's fur is glittered up, and the snowflake is silver glitter card, so.... Blinding!! Who doesn't love a bit of bling, especially at this festive time of year!?!
I have used the SKATER GIRL rubber stamp by Hambo Stamps. The Whee... wording is the first line of the Whee wish you.. rubber stamp. I just masked the rest of the wording...wish you a season of joy!....and stamped it on the inside.
This is actually the first Christmas card I have made this year, what with my gorgeous Grandson being born last week, I have not been able to concentrate on much else, so I think it is me that is going to have to get my skates on!!!

We welcome Guest Designer Kelli Hull to the Pig Pen today! I adore this girl and her fun personality. And she is a Dallas Cowboys fan too, so there ya go!!

Slow as Christmas
Where is this month going? Remember when we were kids and we thought it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R for Christmas to get here? Boy, does time speed up when you get taller or what??
This week's "Try a New Technique Challenge" (TLC459) at Splitcoaststampers was hosted by our lovely Judy Rozema and she challenged us to create a gift card holder. I loved the idea since I have a few gift cards to give and decided to create one like the example Judy created for the challenge - It was simple, and fun, and it turned out precious! I definitely recommend you try it out! The tutorial can be found HERE.
I used a darling Hambo image called Snail Presents.
This card is for a child, thus the choosing of the image and the sentiment ...
Now I just have to add the Build a Bear gift card and send it off to a truly awesome kid for Christmas.
Recipe:
- Image: Snail Presents digi by Hambo Stamps
- Paper: My Minds Eye (Be Merry)
- Ink: Copics E40, E42, E44, B000, B01, B02, B04, B05, No, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y26, Y28, R22, R24, R27, R29
- Other: Ribbon
