"High there"!!!

Hi there!!..Jane here to show you another card that I have made for the ongoing Hambo Hoedown challenge, which is to have animals on your project. This week I have used the BIG GIRAFFE image, isn't he such a cutie!! The thing with Hambo images is that they are so quirky, lots of them come with fabulously funny sentiments, but they are equally easy to make up your own fun sentiment to go with them, I still have a few appropriate sentiments for this gorgeous giraffe so I am sure you will be seeing more of him. There are plenty of fabulous animal images over at Hambo Stamps, so grab yourself one, join in the fun of the hoedown, and be in the running for prizes.

Hope to see you there. Jane :)

Duck Duck Goose! It's an Animal Challenge!

Welcome to the Hambo Hoedown
and Week 2 of our ANIMALS Challenge!

Our Hoedown Challenge is a twice-a-month challenge, on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Participants can use ANY image to play along, as long as the challenge requirement is met. So that means more time to play and create something fantastic to share!

Two winners will be chosen from each challenge, Best in Show, and a random Queen of the Hoedown. Those winners will each receive a Hambo digital image as their prize, as well as a fun badge for their blogs. You can see our current winners HERE.

The Hoedown Challenge is open to ALL images, from any company, digital or rubber. Our prize winners, however, will be chosen from those using Hambo images. So ANYONE is welcome to play with ANY image for fun. Come join us!

***Our challenge for Hoedown #141 is to create a project using ANY ANIMAL.***

Our Bacon Bits DT members created some fun samples for you using some of the famous Hambo pigs. We thought we would start the year off with our Hambo mascot and highlight images in the Hambo line that are full of ham~!

Deborah has an adorable thinking of you greeting that is just full of it -- LOVE that is!
Outhouse Pig (1908) and Stinking of You (1923) rubber images

Jane shares her sweet grandson with us in her artist palette design:

Judy uses Floating Pig and Just Pigcause to convey her all-occasion wishes:

ANY ANIMAL fulfills the challenge requirement! You might use one of my favorites, Big Giraffe (5116), as Jane did here:

Check out our Animal galleries for more Hambo animal fun!

Again, you can use ANY image to play along. Those using Hambo images are in the running for our prizes!

Just Peeking Out...

Happy Monday everyone!

Yes, it has found us again. But I will continue to look for Friday. How about you?

Have you seen the latest challenge? It is a fun one and one that can easily be done! Bookmarks! And if you are looking for one that is unique and will make that someone laugh, look no further and take a peek here at Hambo Stamps bookmark disclaimer

I have decided to get a little creative with this disclaimer and another image called Big Giraffe  and combined them so that the giraffe will be sticking out from the book.

I printed out the bookmark disclaimer on some Neenah cardstock and then stamped the image where I wanted it by covering up the area I didn't want with a post it note.  I colored in the image with my Copics and then fussy cut around the giraffe. Then I placed it over some chocolate chip SU! cardstock and fussy cut around the image again.  The patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket is the base before layering the image and disclaimer over it, finished with some ric rack ribbon.

Thanks for popping in and hope you have a wonderful start of the week!

~Deborah

Two by Two... Hoorah Hoorah!!

For this weeks interactive card challenge,  I have made an interactive side stepper card.

I started off with the BOAT digital image. It has has an "Action Wobble" thingy on the back which makes it not only wobble but rock from side to side. I knew I wanted to put something else in the boat with him, so I stacked up all the possibilities, printed them off, and set about cutting them out......and in Judy's words "Geez"!! Yep... I went way "overboard" here.
I do love cutting out and I am a bit of a perfectionist in that department, I think it stems from when I was a little girl and in the magazines there would be a girl and you had to cut her out and cut out her clothes with tabs on, can anyone remember what I am going on about???  Paper dolls!

So.... yes I am proud of this card, not just for the cutting out but for the fact that I used EIGHT separate Hambo images, fifteen in total....Pheww!!   I actually made this card for my friend's little boy who had his second birthday, but yes....(you were right, Lyn)... I just couldn't part with it to be thrown in the trash the next day!! So he got another one....ohhh I am such a meanie!!  I had so much fun making this card. We have a  great challenge and I hope you can join in. I would love to see your creations.  ~~Jane :)

The digi images I used are BOAT,  KANGAROO,  BIRD BALLOON,  BIRD EGG -- the two different fish are from the SNORKEL BOY set, and the ELEPHANT and BIG GIRAFFE are rubber stamps.

A Giraffe, A Bird, and A Nun!!

Hi! Jane here to tell you a little bit about the two CAS cards I made for this week's ongoing Hoedown Challenge

First, this card is made using BIG GIRAFFE rubber stamp and the BIRD EGG digi image. You might ask..."If it is called bird egg, where is the egg part of the image?" Well, the bird is sitting on top of the egg so I cut that part off and stuck the little fella on top of the giraffe.

I stamped the giraffe image onto the blue cardstock first, then stamped him again cutting off his mane, colored him in then stuck him over the first stamped image. I know I am the cutting out Queen, LOL, but there are limits!! That way I didn't have to cut round his mane..or whatever it is actually called!

My second card is using the cheeky NUN digital image. This week's SCS Try A New Technique Challenge was all about revisiting paper piecing. Well, I'm all for that!! I am not the best at coloring so I welcomed this challenge. The added option was to use washi tape.

As I was looking through my Hambo Digi Images I stopped at this cheeky NUN. I can remember using her before and being daunted by the huge area of her habit to color, so my mind was made up. Then I thought....mmmmm why not a flowered habit!!! And so that is where the idea of the "Nun-Conformist" sentiment came from. Yep, I can definitely get used to paper piecing....it's a doddle!

Hope you can play along in this week's CAS challenge! You have right up to Monday, and the winner will be announced Wednesday along with a new Hoedown Challenge!

It's Week 2 for our current challenge! Read on:

Our Hoedown Challenge is a twice-a-month challenge, on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Participants can use ANY image to play along, as long as the challenge requirement is met. So that means more time to play and create something fantastic to share!

Our challenge for Hoedown #137 is to create a CAS design - in other words, CLEAN AND SIMPLE.  Lots of open space, not a lot of embellishments and clutter, just all about the design

We have some Hambo friends, as well as some of the Bacon Bits DT, on hand to show you their interpretations of CAS:
Former Bacon Bits DT member Jan Hunnicutt using Skater Girl (4311)
Hambo friend Lisa Lara using Bird Balloon
Bacon Bits DT member Lyn using Heart Basket
Bacon Bits DT member Jane using Nun and.....
...using Bird Egg and Big Giraffe (5116)!
Aren't they amazing?
Again, you can use ANY image to play along. Those using Hambo images are in the running for our prizes!
