Eye Love You

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I am not sure if you are like me, but I have been madly trying to get my Valentine's done. For a fun, clean, simple, and adorable card, I had fun checking out all of the Love options in the Hambo Store. 

I needed to create a valentine for a little guy, and I didn't want to go pink and red, so...I colored up a monster with the perfect Valentine sentiment and a hearts embossing folder and EYE LOVE IT!!

Here is my card using One-eyed Monster.

Valentine Flashback and a fun give-away

Today’s card is a flashback Valentine using SPY (a Hambo V-day digi)...

For this card, I created a Valentine cipher decoder (see giveaway at the end). The internal message is for the little spy with the cipher – 

• You put the heart on a pre-assigned letter on the outer circle (in this case the heart goes on his first initial) and the letters of the code line up. 
• The inner row is the code letter, and the outer one is the correct letter.
• Spin it before sending so it stays "top secret".

It is really easy to make:

Step One –

• Print out the decoder on card stock and cut out the two circles. (I wanted mine to have a little dimension so I added a piece of foam in between them.)

Step Two – 

• Adhere the foam (red in this picture) to the back of the smaller circle and a piece of acetate on top of that. 
• Adhere another piece of acetate no bigger than than the foam piece to the front of the center of the larger circle (with acetate on both sides, it will spin easily.) 
• Can you see the shine - that's the acetate.

Step Three – 

• Line up the two pieces (the lines will match up) 
• Using a brad, attach the two pieces in the center. I used a BIG yellow brad for your reference but use whatever you want. For me it didn’t matter because I was going to cover it with my image sine that is the focal point of my card. But for a pocket decoder (the smaller one in the doc,) I may use a cool brad instead…

WARNING: This is an interactive card...you may not be able to stop playing with it in order to deliver it!!

• It has 2 sizes – the larger one that I used for my easel card (5″) and a smaller one that can be made and popped inside a normal card (3.25″). The smaller one doesn’t have a heart on it so you could use it for times other than Valentine’s Day.

Awed By Your Courage

Today's card is for a Hope You Can Cling To challenge HYCCT1503 "I Am A Warrior". It uses one of the Hambo Stamp's images I have been waiting and waiting to use - For this challenge, create something that shows strength or inspiration. You could use Native American inspiration, something camo to represent our military heroes, any symbols that invoke strength and fierceness.

This challenge was a PERFECT opportunity to pull this Camouflage Bear digi out and color it up (now I have to do it again soon because I adore it!)

It's been forty-five years since the first Earth Day, an event to increase public awareness of the world’s environmental problems. Earth Day is honored around the world on April 22. So we are celebrating here at the Pigpen too!

I thought it would be fun to do an Earth Day card today using two of Hambo's digis - Trees and Caterpillar.

OH CRAP!!!

Hi there Hambo friends, thought I would share this card that I made that is so quick to make....and you will need this when you have forgotten that special persons birthday!!! but hopefully you will win them over with a bit of snark or humour, these DIRT PILE and OH CRAP!! rubber stamps from Hambo Stamps, will do just the trick to put a smile on the card recipients face, Hambo Stamps always have an element of fun to them.
I started off with a drop of distress ink and water on my craft mat, smooshed the cardstock into it, added a few splatters, while that was drying I stamped the dirt pile image then coloured it and cut it out, layered the background onto some brown cardstock and stuck to my card base, glued some drywall tape, and the image on, and then added the sentiment. super easy and quick!!!
