Halloween Mummy

Kendra Wietstock, of Kendra's Card Creations, shares her fun Halloween design with us today. We are so happy to have Kendra returning to the Bacon Bits for another term!

Hi Friends! Welcome to the Hambo Hoedown blog with more daily inspiration!  Kendra here today with a fun little Halloween card using the Mummy Digital Image.

First I printed my image from my computer in the size I wanted. The great part about digital images is that you can make them any size you want! Then I colored with my alcohol ink markers. Since the background of my image is white, I wanted my mummy to stand out so I used a light gray marker to add just a little bit of color. The final detail was to add googly eyes on the cute little mummy!

Thanks for stopping by today ~ Enjoy!

Autumn Vellum

This is my first post as a Hambo Bacon Bit.  I am so excited to work with these talented crafters and these great images!!

The current Hambo Hoedown Challenge is to use vellum on your project. Here is my card:
To get the pearly leaf outline (doesn't show up as pretty on the pic as IRL), I sprinkled embossing powder on the vellum as soon as it came out of the printer.  After heating the embossing powder and letting it cool, I dusted it with Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder (pearl).  I reheated it from the bottom (wrong side of the vellum). Once cool I removed the excess powder with a used drier sheet.

The leaves were colored with Copic Markers on the wrong side of the vellum.

This is one of my favorite techniques to used with digital images!

If you have played along with the Hambo Hoedown Challenge, you might want to check out the changes HERE.

I sure hope you can play along with the Bacon Bits!

Welcome to the Hambo Hoedown!

Thank you to everyone that played in the Sketch challenge last week! We loved seeing all of your own touches for the same sketch.

Our Hoedown Challenge is a twice-a-month challenge, on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Participants can use ANY image to play along, as long as the challenge requirement is met. So that means more time to play and create something fantastic to share!

Two winners will be chosen from each challenge, Best in Show, and a random Queen of the Hoedown. Those winners will each receive a Hambo digital image as their prize, as well as a fun badge for their blogs.

Our Best in Show for the Sketch Challenge goes to...

We're Adding to the Pig Pen!

Happy October 1st!

We are thrilled today to be adding to the Pig Pen and introducing a new member on the Bacon Bits Design Team!
Juliana Swanson, of Stampin' With Inky Fingers, is joining the rest of the team to bring you fabulous Hambo inspiration each day right here at the Hoedown!
Let's find out a little more about Juliana in her own words:

"I am Juliana Swanson and I traded a box of my kids baby clothes for my first papercrafting supplies about 14 years ago.   Along with 3 fabulous kids and the best husband in the world, I have found that stamping and color are my passions.

I love to try new styles, techniques, and mediums whenever I can.  When I am not coloring, stamping or cheering for my distance runner family (they run-- I DON'T) I will have my nose in a book.

I am super excited to work with the incredible Hambo images as well as the talented Bacon Bits team!!"

Juliana has some mad coloring skills and I know you will enjoy her creations! Here is one of my favorites that she did as a Guest Designer this summer:
using Bad Connection digital image

Juliana's first Hoedown post will be October 3, so don't miss it!

Tomorrow we have a brand new challenge and a brand new format. See you then!
